The plug screw feeder is the core feeding equipment of the horizontal tube continuous cooking system. It is mainly used to continuously and stably transport the pretreated materials (such as wood chips, straw chips, etc.) to the cooking tube, while ensuring the sealing of the system. Its specific functions are as follows:
1. Continuous and stable feeding
● Through the rotation of the screw blade, the material is pushed from the feed port to the cooking tube to ensure the continuity and stability of the cooking process.
● Example: In the cooking of wood chips, the plug screw feeder conveys wood chips at a constant rate to avoid uneven cooking caused by flow fluctuations.
2. Material pre-compression and dehydration
● The screw blade presses the material during the process of advancing it, discharging part of the moisture or air, improving the density of the material and facilitating subsequent cooking.
● Example: In straw pulp cooking, the plug screw feeder compresses the loose straw to a dense state, reducing the steam consumption in the cooking tube.
3. Sealing and pressure isolation
● The plug screw feeder forms a "material plug" through the tight accumulation of materials between the screw blades, effectively isolating the high-pressure environment of the cooking tube and preventing steam reverse channeling or material leakage.
● Example: In sulfate pulping, the plug screw feeder ensures that the pressure in the cooking tube is stable at 0.8~ 1.2MPa to avoid steam leakage.
4. Adapt to a variety of material characteristics
● Adapt to the transportation requirements of different materials (such as wood chips, straw pulp, chemicals) by adjusting the pitch, speed or diameter of the spiral blades.
